Congratulations to Leigh Day, Red Hat’s vice president of Marketing Services, for being named PR Executive of the Year by the 3rd Annual 2013 PR World Awards. Day, who has more than 18 years’ experience in communications, was celebrated for her success in bringing Red Hat’s story to life. At Red Hat, Day’s Marketing Services team develops, refines, and delivers the company’s messaging and creative assets using a mix of corporate communications, digital and social media, redhat.com, traditional channels, as well as live events.

The coveted annual PR World Awards program, a part of the Silicon Valley United States worldwide recognition programs, encompasses the world’s best in external public relations and in-house corporate communications. More than 50 judges representing a broad spectrum of industry voices determined the winners from submissions of executives and organizations all over the world including public and private, for profit and non-profit, largest to smallest and new start-ups.

Day, who joined Red Hat in 1999 as employee No. 139, played an integral part of the marketing team that launched Red Hat into the enterprise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux in 2001, and has continued to lead the team responsible for Red Hat’s premier open source event, the Red Hat Summit, since its inception in 2005.

Red Hat salutes Leigh Day for her continued commitment to championing Red Hat’s story and being named PR Executive of the Year.
